To be eligible for a temporary work visa, all applicants must meet the following general requirements:
You must be in good health and of good character.
Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure date from New Zealand.
You must have a genuine purpose for working in New Zealand.
Ensure you hold the right visa for your intended stay.
If granted a temporary work visa, you must adhere to specific conditions:
Failure to meet any of these conditions may result in immediate removal from New Zealand.

If you have a job offer from a New Zealand employer but don’t qualify under the specialist worker categories, you may apply through the Essential Skills work category. In this category, the employer must demonstrate that no New Zealand citizen or resident is available for the position, either by proving that the job is on the Essential Skills In Demand Lists or by showing genuine efforts to recruit locally. You must also have the necessary qualifications or experience for the role.
